Frequently Asked Questions

  • A: If you are confident your weight will remain stable and you’re not taking any medication that could cause fluctuations, it’s best to begin your alterations as soon as possible. Wedding dress alterations can be time consuming, especially for intricate designs, delicate fabrics, or extensive customizations, so bringing your gown in early ensures we have the time needed to perfect every detail.

  • A: At Best Bridal & Alterations, most wedding gowns are perfected in just two fittings. The first fitting is where we discuss your vision and preference and pin the gown for alterations, and the final fitting, which often doubles as your pickup appointment.

If your dress requires extra adjustments, we’re happy to schedule additional fittings to ensure a flawless fit.

Our goal is always to deliver the results you envision with as few visits as possible, while never compromising on quality.

  • A: To ensure the perfect fit, please bring the exact undergarments, shape-wear, and shoes you plan to wear with your dress. These details allow us to tailor your gown or outfit with utmost accuracy. Whether it’s a bridal gown, bridesmaid dress, formalwear, or a sundress, arriving with these items helps us achieve accurate measurements, proper hem length, and a flawless silhouette for your special occasion.

  • A: The short answer is in most cases, yes, if time and cost are not of concern.

Let me explain with an example:
Imagine you have a beaded gown with a bulge in the front, but no waist seam separating the bodice from the skirt. In this case, without getting into the various possible causes, the only way to address the issue might be to first create a new seam at the waist, then correct the bulge. After that, the beading would need to be meticulously realigned to ensure a flawless, seamless look.
This process can become complex depending on the fabric, beading style, hue and or pattern of the beads, fabric, etc.

At Best Bridal & Alterations, we have the skill to work on almost any garment, wedding dresses, couture gowns, formal wear, beaded dresses and more, long as the time and investment align with your vision.

  • A: While pictures can give us a general idea of the work needed, many important factors, such as fabric type, construction details, fit, and the garment’s condition, can only be properly evaluated in person. Because of this, we offer free consultations where Emma, the owner and master seamstress, takes her time fitting the garment and discussing your desired outcome. This allows her to provide an accurate estimate and timeline tailored specifically for you.
